You can get really authentic filipino food there. Sometimes the food hits the spot sometimes it does not. I ordered some turon here and I could taste that they reused the oil. it has a subtle taste of fish, which to me shouldnt be what banana spring rolls should taste like. Despite, there are a lot of dishes to select from.

Keep coming here for one thing and one thing only and that is the Mocha Cakes. Sometimes they are awesome and taste great and sometimes they are just sad and dry. If I had a recipe for these cakes I would just make them myself but until then I'll take my chance. I would give 4 stars for the cakes if I didn't get the dry ones every so often. This place also serves hot Filipino food (eat in or take out) and sells grocery items...a very small shop but packed with a lot of stuff/

I don't know. I came here when my Filipino friends came up to visit. Thought it'd be a great chance to be introduced to everything. Store was very small and cramp. Tiny counter in the back serving hot food and some sweets in fridge and counter. Selection was very limited. But since it was our first time, we got everything. I guess the owners speak the same dialect. They were going on about something. Anyways. Bought a fried tilapia and one of those pork thing (deep fried it looks) and chicken adobo and some ube and sponge bread with cheese and sugar on top. Came out under $20. Sadly on our way out we notice sweets in the fridge...went to grab more. Ube paste, cassava bread, some round bits of white rice cupcake and brown ones. I forgot the names my friend called them by. My fave was only the ube paste...as was the other 4 adults with me. The pork was way too fatty for me. I didn't see enough meat. I think I prefer the Chinese roast pork better. Fried fish...never seems to taste as good as how mom/me makes it. I'm very OCD when it comes to cleaning them so there's no foul flavor interrupting my eating. I also season it with salt before frying so there's more flavor. It just didn't do it for me here. We drove pretty far to try the place. It wasn't worth it when all of us had better from Goldielocks in Cali. Since it's really hard to find good Filipino food in MI...I bump it to 3 stars.

I have two words for you: ONION COOKIES. Yes, you read that right. Onion cookies. They are deliciousness. Yes, Red Ribbon has several different pastries that are yummy goodness, but these cookies are what has me coming back. The owner is the sweetest ever and always makes me laugh. I'm hooked for life!
